Don't believe what you read about this being perfect for R&B - it can do anything. I've seen videos showing that Kevin "the Caveman Shirley" has one in his rack, so if its good enough for him its good enough for me. I mainly use it for tracking vocals and it imparts incredible warmth and depth to thin voices. Love it!

Je savais que Avalon est une référence en studio, mais après l'avoir testé, c'est bien au dessus de ce que croyais. La bête arrive emmitouflée dans un écrin. La qualité de fabrication est la, du haut de gamme. L'équaliseur est redoutable d'efficacité, la partie préamp, pffff, c'est une tuerie, bref, je ne peux plus m'en passer. Seul léger bémol, le compresseur est un peu mou mais d'adapte bien à certains instruments. Les voix sont suaves, les guitares acoustiques aussi. Je ne l'ai pas testé sur un kick, mais je pense que cela nécessite un autre compresseur plus "mordant". Bon, je peux vous le dire, allez-y les yeux fermés, c'est de la bombe

Preamp und EQ top. Kompressor geht so.

Wie beschrieben klingt der Preamp knackig und crisp, vorausgesetzt, man hat das richtige Mikro dran. Billige Mikros, die sehr Konsonanten betont sind funktionieren hier weniger. Da solte man schon ein gutes Neumann oder ähnliches anschließen. Mein Mojave FET ging zB mit dem Avalon gar nicht, mein U87 hingegen hervorragend. Auch der EQ ist nützlich und sehr flexibel. Allein der Kompressor haut mich nicht aus den Socken, ist etwas langsam und nicht wirklich charakterstark für das Geld das man investiert. Für alle also, die schon einen guten Preamp haben, vielleicht nicht die sinnvollste Investition.
